Although we are still in spring season, the weather makes me feel like it’s summer time.
The time of the year that the sun is up, the temperature’s rising, all the geeks leave their console battle stations and all the nerds awaken from their cryo sleep, open the curtains and head for greener pastures to let their hormone’s run amuk.
No summer is complete without the right theme music so I will let you in on a personal favorite of mine (and qualitee’s for that matter).
This song is called “Why i came to california” from Leon Ware.
Leon originally is from Detroit and has worked with greats such as Michael Jackson, Quincy Jones, Minnie Riperton, the Parliaments and personal friend Marvin Gaye.
This song is featured on his self titled LP which was released on Elektra in 1982. Kon & Amir (from On Track fame) featured this song on their excellent “The Cleaning” compilation a while ago.
If you want this baby just look for the LP, cause the 12″ is a little harder to find.
