I can’t find anything about these guys, ab-so-lu-te-ly nothing. The only thing I’ve gathered so far is that they have a website and they have performed live at least once. Oh and they’re Dutch, judging from the url and the accent heard in the vocals (which are performed in English).

These mystery guys go by the names of Joe Kickass and B.O.U.K.E. and they make laidback jazzy hiphop. I assume that they’re both producers , and the album they’ve put together reminds me of a crossover between new acid jazz (remember the Mushroom Jazz compilations by Mark Farina?) and mid-90s hiphop.

Although the general mixdown of the album could be a bit better (in my opinion), the blending of samples and drums is superb. Every track has a nice dusty feel and although everything is sample-based, both guys cut enough sounds to make each song more interesting than just a chopped up loop.
