While I was checking out my weekly plays at last.fm (I’m a statistics-freak) I noticed a whole bunch of new people playing my track “When She Looked At Me (I Saw Her Wondering)“. Since it was released by the Creative Commons License on iD.EOLOGY and BlocSonic, everyone has the right to distribute it as long as there are no commercial interests, and the file stays untouched. So I fired up Google to check if it was featured again somewhere, and it did!
“Nivel Del Mar – Sounds for Soulsurfers” was released on Phlow Magazine, an proper weblog about free mp3 music culture. A team of enthousiastic music-lovers/producers digs up and reviews what they think is the best music that is being released through the CC-license.
For this release one of the reviewers, Mo, has selected the best chillout tunes for you with this vision in mind: ‘“Busy times we live in, dude!”, says the weed-smoker while getting laid back to manage all the information, all the news, all the technological developments running like a rush through his data-pipeline. “It’s just sick. How do I stay in touch with all that?!? I need more drugs to come down…”’. It fits perfectly, every track is a total downtempo rush whether it’s sampled, electronic or jazzy, light, heavy or dreamy.
The usual suspects include Comfort Fit, Aphilas and WillBe and are joined by great producers like Nils Hoffman, Crookram, Motown Junkie and many more. This 1 hour and 22 minutes compilation is something you can’t miss if you like damp and dusty grooves.
