Here’s a quickie for all you (home) producers out there. Soundcloud, the new and upcoming share-your-and-comment-on-other’s-music community, has put up a remix contest of a Jazzanova song.

This blogpost explains it all so I can keep it clean and simple. You can download all the seperate tracks in .aif format, and upload your remix to the remix dropbox.

Ending date of the contest is December 15th, so get crackin’!

more than meets the ear vol. 2 contest results!

The deadline for the “More Than Meets The Ear vol. 2″ contest has come, and we’re proud to announce the 2 winners! We want to send out a warm Thank You to everyone who sent in their guesses, and at the end of this post you can check out what the correct answers were. The two lucky persons that actually got _both_ covers right, and will receive 2 CDs of the mix, are:

Thanks for competing and the display of record knowledge! We hope you’ll enjoy our little project, and that you’ll ofcourse spread the word so that vol. 3 will become even more succesful. Since we’ve started the contest to win 2 copies of Skidz’s “More Than Meets The Ear vol. 2″ several people have sent us their answers, but it seems we’ve made the question a bit too hard. (That’s what you get when you let 2 overzealous fanatics make up the question =)

So we’re gonna give you some extra hints!

The question was: “what album covers are we spoofing for the booklet of MTMTE 2?”
Initially, we were asking for both covers. Now we want just 1 of the 2, and we’re giving away the year and label where the original covers were put out.

So check the pics and send your answer before the 14th of May to contribute @ thebeats.nl.

Yes, that’s right!

In about two weeks vol. 2 of More Than Meets The Ear will be finished (get vol. 1 here). To celebrate, we’re giving away 2 copies of it on CD! We’re putting out a limited supply of 200 discs, and here’s your chance to get two of them.

All you need to do to get the CDs mailed straight to your home (for free) is take a look at the unedited pictures below, guess what 2 album covers we’re gonna spoof, and e-mail your answer to contribute @ thebeats.nl before the 14th of May. On the 15th, me and Skidz will pick a winner and get in contact for the delivery address. *

If you’re not the lucky winner, and you’re in The Netherlands, you cop a disc at the Spinnin’ party, where Black Sheep will be doing a live show. It will be held the 16th of May @ Metropool, Hengelo.
